Fishing trawler Rietvlei goes aground off Langebaan

A fire broke out in the engine room of the fishing vessel Rietvlei yesterday morning (4 September 2003) ahead of the fishing vessel going aground at 13.00 off the Langebaan coast in the Western Cape.
Although the crew were taken to safety it is reported that one person, the vesselís captain died of suspected heart failure during the rescue.
