New Berth Planner at the port of Durban
Dec 23, 2002
Ms Ester Claasen has taken over the position of Berth Planner at the port of Durban from Mr Bert Kurten, who retired at the end of November 2002 after 32 years of placing ships where the agents usually wanted them.
He always took a keen interest in his work as well as the ships that came into port and was always willing to assist with enquiries about ship movements. May he long enjoy his retirement.
Ester Claasen has worked in the port for about 14 years having joined the then SA Transport Services in the personnel department. She holds a B Sc degree in business administration, a certificate in business management and is working towards a post-graduate certificate in business administration, after which a MBA lies on her horison.
