All change in the Gulf

A small task force consisting of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington, the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan, the cruiser USS Vella Gulf (CG72) and destroyer USS Bulkeley (DDG84) sails from Norfolk today (Tuesday) for a three month deployment in support of US operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The small force will relieve another task force headed by the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, which has been in the area since August/September 2003.
