Another Queen for Cunard

Cunard has placed an order for yet another ‘Queen’ to join the 150,000-gt Queen Mary 2, which enters service early in 2004, and the aging but still in service Queen Elizabeth 2 – QE2.
Carnival has announced that the news ship will be named Queen Victoria, which will have a gross tonnage of 85,000 and be capable of carrying 1,968 passengers in 984 cabins over 12 decks. 609 of these cabins will have balcony verandahs. The ship will carry a crew of 866 and will operate at a top speed of 24 knots via an Azipod propulsion system. To be built at a cost of USD265 million, Queen Victoria (QV ?) will enter service a year after Queen Mary 2.
